The report, A call to action: LGBTQ youth need inclusive sexuality education, was written and endorsed by Advocates for Youth, Answer, Black & Pink, Federation for Equality, GLSEN, Human Rights Campaign, National LGBTQ Task Force, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, SIECUS : Sex Ed for Social Change, and URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity and provides guidance to parents and families, young people, educators and policy makers on:
- Become advocates for inclusive sex education for LGBTQ +;
- Ensure that the school is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ + students;
- Implement inclusive LGBTQ + sex education in schools, community settings and online;
- Talk to their own children and adolescents about sex and sexuality; and
- Work to remove legal and policy barriers at the state level to inclusive LGBTQ + sex education in schools and to demand inclusive curricula.
